OMG Roofing Products Names New Vice President of Sales and Marketing

As part of its ongoing efforts to drive growth and value, OMG Roofing Products has named Monte Horst as vice president of sales and marketing.

Monte is responsible for developing and executing the division’s overall sales and marketing strategies to support the three business units – Fasteners, Adhesives & Solar, and Metal Accessories. In this role he will work closely with the company’s marketing communications and customer service departments. Monte reports to Peter Coyne, senior vice president and general manager of OMG Roofing Products.

ARMA Names New Vice President of Technical Services

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has named Aaron R. Phillips as its new Vice President of Technical Services, effective November 1, 2020.

As Vice President of Technical Services, Phillips will serve as ARMA’s primary technical voice, assuring that asphalt roofing is accurately, equitably and appropriately represented in all scientific and technical discussions about residential and commercial roofing applications. He will manage all of ARMA’s technical-related activities and will also serve as the association’s technical liaison to organizations involved in the development of building standards.

“Aaron has been involved with ARMA as a volunteer for more than 25 years, and we are pleased to bring him fully onboard with the association in this role,” said Reed Hitchcock, ARMA’s executive vice president. “His expertise and comprehensive knowledge related to the technical aspects of the roofing industry will make him a valuable asset to ARMA.”

Phillips was previously the Corporate Director of Technical Services at TAMKO Building Products, and was employed by TAMKO throughout his career in the roofing industry. He spent 17 years in the research and development department before transitioning in 2005 to the technical services group to focus on technical support of all TAMKO product lines. Phillips has also served as the chair of ARMA’s Codes Steering Group.

OMG, Inc. Names New Vice President of Supply Chain Management

As part of the continued effort to position the company for stronger growth, Brad Bedard has been promoted to vice president of supply chain management for OMG, Inc.

As vice president, Brad is responsible for overall management of the company’s global supply chain and distribution logistics. In this new role, Brad will work with his organization to develop and implement short- and long-term strategies that maximize operational efficiencies, improve supply chain and distribution performance, and manage costs. He reports to Hubert McGovern, president and CEO.

Brad has been with OMG since August of 2007, most recently as director of supply chain management. Earlier he had been the company’s director of distribution and sales inventory operations planning (SIOP), where he was instrumental in developing and implementing the company’s forecasting and operations planning process. Prior to joining OMG, Inc., Brad held various distribution and logistics roles for Bose Corporation and for Timex Corporation. Brad holds a BA degree in economics from Harvard University.

In his new role, Mills will manage all aspects of Tilcor’s marketing and sales efforts, establishing Tilcor as the highest-value roofing option for customers throughout North America. 

Mills is a long-time sales and marketing veteran, holding numerous executive positions with roofing manufacturers such as Boral Roofing and Eagle Roofing Products. Firestone Building Products Company, LLC announced Jason Flack has been named vice president of sales. In this role, Flack will oversee domestic sales and new business development, carrying out strategies that drive global objectives and reinforce that “Nobody Covers You Better.” Flack will be based in Nashville.

ABC Supply Co. Inc. Names Chief Operating Officer

ABC Supply Co. Inc. has appointed Mike Jost, vice president of operations as chief operating officer. In his new role, Jost will be responsible for the performance of ABC Supply branches across the country. His operations teams will also support L&W Supply branches, which were acquired by ABC Supply in 2016.

Jost will continue to oversee ABC Supply’s marketing and merchandising groups, as well as its real estate, education, fleet and safety, and national business development teams.

Jost started in the industry in 1998 as a salesperson for Washington Roofing Products in Alexandria, Virginia. He joined ABC Supply in 2002, when it purchased Washington Roofing as part of the Cameron Ashley acquisition. Jost spent several years as a branch manager and managing partner, three years on ABC’s northeast regional team and was the district manager for ABC’s Mid-Atlantic District prior to his promotion to vice president of operations in November of 2013.

Behlen Building Systems has appointed Pat Kern as vice president of new business development and international marketing. In this newly-established position, Kern will lead the commercial sales effort and project coordination for new building system projects in the eastern U.S. region and international sales opportunities.
