STANLEY introduces the lightweight and compact TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer—model STHT77343—with Bluetooth connectivity that syncs the TLM99s to smart phones and tablets via the STANLEY Floor Plan App.

With its automatic calculations, the Laser Distance Measurer makes job estimates quick and easy, instantly calculating square footage, volume and distance. The multi-functional TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer is small enough to fit in a pocket and is a great tool for builders, remodelers, real estate agents, contractors, landscapers, painters and do-it-yourselfers.

With a range of 100 feet (30 meters), the TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer is accurate to within +/- 3/32 of an inch (2 millimeters) and allows one user to take long measurements without assistance. The simple design allows for measuring distance, calculating square-footage and even cubic-footage. The continuous measurement function allows users to find their target distance quickly and easily.

TLM99s features an addition and subtraction function for convenient calculations in the field and can be set to work in English or metric, or fractional or decimal modes. The handheld, battery-powered device features state-of-the-art electronics and an easy to read LCD screen that simplifies the process of taking long measurements or performing calculations.

The TLM99s can be used alone or with the STANLEY Floor Plan App. Available for iOS and Android devices, STANLEY Floor Plan allows users to quickly and accurately create floor plans. Using a Smartphone’s or tablet’s camera, STANLEY Floor Plan users can stand in the center of a room, automatically generating a floor plan by tapping on the screen to designate placement of room corners and doors. The STANLEY Floor Plan App’s intuitive software estimates measurements from point to point creating a drawing of the room with dimensions. Individual room plans can easily be linked together to create a complete floor plan.

To ensure accurate room measurements, the TLM99s Bluetooth connectivity allows users to select any dimension on the floor plan and automatically sync with the distance captured on the TLM99s. No manual entry of dimensions is necessary—in your floor plan select the dimension you want to verify, point and click the TLM99s, and move on to the next dimension. The end result is a floor plan with dimensions accurate to within the accuracy of the LDM—3/32 of an inch (2 millimeters).

The STANLEY Floor Plan App automatically displays each room’s dimensions and square footage calculations providing quick reference for paint, flooring or other building materials estimates.

The STANLEY Floor Plan App also allows you to add objects such as furniture, appliances, windows, doors and more making it an excellent space-planning tool.

Floor plans can be saved and organized in project folders for future reference, or shared with other STANLEY Floor Plan users for free. Floor plans can also be purchased to be exported as PDF, JPEG, Excel, or DXF files to be printed, shared via email, social media, or sent directly to retailers.

STANLEY Floor Plan is now available for download through iTunes or Google Play.

The STANLEY TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer is available at mass retailers, home centers and independent retailers.

ARMA’s Website Now Is More Interactive

With technology changing the way the roofing industry communicates, the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) has made its website more interactive in an effort to keep users better connected in today’s fast-paced world.

The website’s new capabilities will mean convenient access to information for roofing professionals working on job sites and more content on asphalt shingles in the hands of consumers where they are increasingly demanding it—on their smartphones and tablets.

“ARMA makes available industry-leading roofing information to the public through our website,” says Reed Hitchcock, executive vice-president, ARMA. “Now that the site features mobile responsive functionality, roofing professionals and consumers alike will be able to easily access the same resources from their phone or tablet as they do from their desktop or laptop.”

All of the features available on the ARMA website are now optimized for viewing on Apple or Android mobile and tablet devices. ARMA’s popular resources, including Technical Bulletins, Fast Facts, commercial and residential photo galleries, FAQs and videos, have been formatted to fit on the screen of the device with which they are being viewed.

“Whether you are a roofing contractor who’s looking for shingle installation tips while working on a home or a homeowner who wants to see different design options while shopping at the store, visitors to the site will benefit greatly from the more easily accessed information that ARMA’s upgraded website will offer,” adds Hitchcock.

ARMA redesigned its website a year ago to provide visitors with both enhanced user-friendly features which improved navigation and online shopping for roofing publications. ARMA offers a wide variety of general, educational and specialized design and installation guides for both residential and commercial asphalt roofing systems.

Accelerate Cash Flow By Collecting Payments in the Field

NetSecure Payments Inc.'s TradeRoute

NetSecure Payments Inc.’s TradeRoute

NetSecure Payments Inc., a provider of mobile payment processing services, has launched its TradeRoute payment acceptance service designed to accelerate cash flow for contractors and service professionals.

Unlike other solution providers that provide a fixed and limited set of payment services targeted at a general market, TradeRoute provides a comprehensive suite of services tailored to the workflows of service professionals. Including unique features like remote check deposit; mobile PIN debit; and online tools for pre-payments, deposits, recurring payments, and online invoice payments, TradeRoute stands apart from the pack.

TradeRoute’s key advantage is that it runs on the smartphones and tablets that service professionals already have in their pockets. No additional hardware is required, keeping upfront costs to a minimum. Transactions are fully secured and encrypted, so employees can safely collect payment while out in the field. Check payments are also fully guaranteed, reducing the headache of collecting on bounced checks.

The developers understand the need for accelerated payment options, especially in businesses where service is provided before payment. TradeRoute promises to dramatically reduce the time spent chasing receivables, so business owners can focus more on growing their business and less on managing cash flow.

TradeRoute also has a private label program and a developer SDK, allowing third parties to quickly leverage TradeRoute payments into their existing payment ecosystem. TradeRoute supports iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry environments.
