2018-2019 Most Valuable Player Award Winners Announced

The Roofing Alliance, the foundation of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), proudly announces the winners of the 2018-2019 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards who have been invited to the International Roofing Expo (IRE) where they will be recognizedat the NRCA’s Industry Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception, February 12, 2019, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the 2019 International Roofing Expo (IRE) in Nashville, Tennessee. 

In its 19th year, the MVP Program honors leadership in the field. Roofing contracting firms nominate any field roofing worker, foreman or superintendent. Distributors and supplier firms may nominate warehouse employees, warehouse foremen, drivers or equipment operators. Individuals can be nominated for their outstanding on-the-job performance and/or workmanship or their philanthropic contributions outside the workplace.   Since the program’s inception 19 years ago, 660 employees have been nominated and 242 winners and finalists have been recognized.

During NRCA’s Industry Awards Ceremony, one winner will be chosen as Professional Roofing‘s Best of the Best, an honor co-sponsored by OMG Roofing Products, Agawam, Mass. and Professional Roofingmagazine.  “The award recognizes a Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award winner who makes extraordinary contributions to the roofing industry and community,” stated Josh Kelly, incoming president of the Roofing Alliance and Vice President of Product Development & Innovation of OMG.  “The Roofing Alliance’s MVP Task Force evaluates each MVP award winner and tallies points based on MVP award’s criteria, including on-the-job safety, on-the-job performance, recruiting new workers, community service and other noteworthy contributions to determine the Best of the Best.  We are very proud of all the winners and especially the past and future Best of the Best Award winners.”

Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress Accepting MVP Award Nominations

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress has announced it is accepting nominations for its 2014-15 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award program. In its 15th year, the MVP Program honors a maximum of 10 outstanding roofing workers. One winner will be chosen as Professional Roofing’s Best of the Best, an honor co-sponsored by OMG Roofing Products, Agawam, Mass. The Best of the Best winner also is featured in an article in Professional Roofing.

The MVP Program recognizes leadership in the field. Roofing contractor firms can nominate any field roofing worker, foreman or superintendent. No more than three nominations per company branch will be accepted. Distributors and supplier firms may nominate up to five warehouse employees, warehouse foremen, drivers or equipment operators. Self-nominations are not accepted.

Criteria by which nominees will be evaluated include outstanding on-the-job performance; on-the-job safety performance; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities.

Entries may be submitted by completing an official entry form, providing detailed descriptions of specific attributes, activities and other factors that make individuals noteworthy or unique. All entries must be submitted by Nov. 21, 2014.

MVP winners will receive two complimentary airfares and two nights’ hotel accommodations during NRCA’s 128th Annual Convention in New Orleans; one complimentary conference registration and exhibit hall pass to the 2015 International Roofing Expo®; two complimentary tickets to the NRCA Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception where winners and their companies will be formally honored; a $100 American Express gift card; recognition in Professional Roofing magazine, NRCA’s For Members Only newsletter and on The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress website; and recognition in a press release sent to local media and industry trade press.

Each person submitting a nomination by the deadline also will be placed in a drawing for an iPad2 16GB with Wi-Fi. In addition, each candidate will have his or her name entered into a drawing for a $100 American Express gift card.

Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress Names MVP Award Winners

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress has announced the winners of its 14th Annual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards, recognizing outstanding roofing workers from Dallas; Aurora, Colo.; Quakertown, Pa.; and Canonsburg, Pa.

The MVP Awards program honors roofing professionals based on their significant contributions in one or more of the following areas: outstanding on-the-job performance, on-the-job safety performance, contributions to a team effort, community service and volunteerism, and other noteworthy contributions.

The 2014 MVP Award winners are:

  • Jim Dieckmen, superintendent for Academy Roofing, Inc., Aurora, Colo.
  • Roberto Valdez, superintendent for Supreme Roofing Systems, Inc., Dallas

Additionally, the Alliance named the following MVP Award finalists:
