NoteVault’s program, One Team. One Report., enables construction companies to invite subcontractors to contribute project documentation to any project within their account at no cost to either the contractor or the subcontractor.

NoteVault, a provider of mobile reporting solutions, launched a program designed to increase transparency, while reducing administration costs of managing subcontractor reports on large, complicated building or engineering projects. The program One Team. One Report. enables construction companies to invite subcontractors to contribute project documentation to any project within their account at no cost to either the contractor or the subcontractor.

The One Team. One Report. program enables subcontractors to post notes, photos and labor to any project at no cost, no matter how many subcontractor companies are working on the project. Each subcontractor is allocated an individual NoteVault account. NoteVault links the subcontractor project to the construction company project report. This results in a professional daily report, including all subcontractor notes collated for easy reference, delivered every day or on demand. Plus, subcontractors receive their own reports for their work.

A NoteVault Account includes:

  • NoteVault Daily Reporting Platform.
  • Notes! app for Android or iOS.
  • Activities Labor, Materials and Equipment app for Android or iOS.
  • Immediate notification of incidents/accidents through keyword notification.
  • Collaboration with colleagues using the comment feature.
  • Professional human transcription (available for an additional charge).

Tool management startup WiiN Solutions developed an app specifically for construction companies that allows them to manage tools via mobile device.

Construction companies spread across multiple job sites will no longer need to ask “where is it now?” Tool management startup WiiN Solutions LLC developed an app specifically for construction companies that allows them to manage their tools within seconds via mobile device.

Industrial grade QR labels and cloud-based inventory allow authorized user to search, locate, request and returns tools within the app. Administrators are able to regulate user access, respond to pending tool requests and manage tool inventory, whether in the field or the office.

Companies can eliminate waste by spending less time searching for tools and less money replacing lost ones. They’ll also be able to improve efficiency by quickly locating and accessing their tools from job sites.

Since the WiiN app is downloaded and accessed on smartphones, no bulky scanners or extra devices are needed to manage tool inventory. Currently, WiiN is available on iOS devices, with Android capability in the testing phase. Pricing is based on inventory size, with monthly and yearly subscription options.

Lithium Ion Batteries Connect to App via Bluetooth

DEWALT launches its first line of premium 20V MAX 2.0 Amp (DCB203BT) and 4.0 Amp (DCB204BT) lithium ion batteries with Bluetooth capability.

DEWALT launches its first line of premium 20V MAX 2.0 Amp (DCB203BT) and 4.0 Amp (DCB204BT) lithium ion batteries with Bluetooth capability.

Adding to its growing offering of “connected” tools, DEWALT launches its first line of premium 20V MAX 2.0 Amp (DCB203BT) and 4.0 Amp (DCB204BT) lithium ion batteries with Bluetooth capability.

These batteries pair with Apple and Android smart devices via the free Tool Connect App. This innovation gives DEWALT users the ability to control their compatible DEWALT batteries remotely via a Bluetooth device. For the early-adopter who runs a business on a job site, this technology allows greater control over tools in residential, MRO and commercial work sites.

Bluetooth-enabled batteries solve a number of job-site problems and the Tool Connect App takes just a few moments to set up. Users can simply connect their compatible DEWALT batteries to their Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet (by initiating the pairing process) and view the inventory of paired units on the Tool Connect App home screen. This home screen allows users to remotely turn all compatible DEWALT Bluetooth batteries on or off at once, monitor battery charge level, view Bluetooth signal strength and pair additional batteries.

From the Tool Connect App home screen, users can select an individual battery to view its diagnostics and change settings by tabbing through four pages: Diagnostics, Actions, Info and Alerts. The Diagnostics screen indicates an individual battery’s state of charge, temperature and connection to Bluetooth. This screen also allows users to enable and disable a particular battery. By disabling a battery, the user prevents it from being used until re-enabled. This feature makes it easy to shut down equipment at the end of the day to conserve battery life and deter theft.

The Actions screen allows the user to customize their alert preferences depending on what information they need and when they need it. These options include Alert if Out of Range, Disable if Out of Range, Alert at Low Battery Charge, Alert at High Temperature and Alert at Charge Completion. In addition, this screen offers a Lending Button, which allows for sharing of batteries. The user can select an amount of time for the tool (with battery) to be lent and when the time is exceeded, the battery shuts down and the owner receives an alert.

Finally, the Alerts screen provides a comprehensive list of all of the alerts that have been generated by the Tool Connect App and the compatible DEWALT Bluetooth batteries. From here, users can select an alert to view more details or clear some or all alerts in the log.

STANLEY introduces the lightweight and compact TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer—model STHT77343—with Bluetooth connectivity that syncs the TLM99s to smart phones and tablets via the STANLEY Floor Plan App.

With its automatic calculations, the Laser Distance Measurer makes job estimates quick and easy, instantly calculating square footage, volume and distance. The multi-functional TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer is small enough to fit in a pocket and is a great tool for builders, remodelers, real estate agents, contractors, landscapers, painters and do-it-yourselfers.

With a range of 100 feet (30 meters), the TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer is accurate to within +/- 3/32 of an inch (2 millimeters) and allows one user to take long measurements without assistance. The simple design allows for measuring distance, calculating square-footage and even cubic-footage. The continuous measurement function allows users to find their target distance quickly and easily.

TLM99s features an addition and subtraction function for convenient calculations in the field and can be set to work in English or metric, or fractional or decimal modes. The handheld, battery-powered device features state-of-the-art electronics and an easy to read LCD screen that simplifies the process of taking long measurements or performing calculations.

The TLM99s can be used alone or with the STANLEY Floor Plan App. Available for iOS and Android devices, STANLEY Floor Plan allows users to quickly and accurately create floor plans. Using a Smartphone’s or tablet’s camera, STANLEY Floor Plan users can stand in the center of a room, automatically generating a floor plan by tapping on the screen to designate placement of room corners and doors. The STANLEY Floor Plan App’s intuitive software estimates measurements from point to point creating a drawing of the room with dimensions. Individual room plans can easily be linked together to create a complete floor plan.

To ensure accurate room measurements, the TLM99s Bluetooth connectivity allows users to select any dimension on the floor plan and automatically sync with the distance captured on the TLM99s. No manual entry of dimensions is necessary—in your floor plan select the dimension you want to verify, point and click the TLM99s, and move on to the next dimension. The end result is a floor plan with dimensions accurate to within the accuracy of the LDM—3/32 of an inch (2 millimeters).

The STANLEY Floor Plan App automatically displays each room’s dimensions and square footage calculations providing quick reference for paint, flooring or other building materials estimates.

The STANLEY Floor Plan App also allows you to add objects such as furniture, appliances, windows, doors and more making it an excellent space-planning tool.

Floor plans can be saved and organized in project folders for future reference, or shared with other STANLEY Floor Plan users for free. Floor plans can also be purchased to be exported as PDF, JPEG, Excel, or DXF files to be printed, shared via email, social media, or sent directly to retailers.

STANLEY Floor Plan is now available for download through iTunes or Google Play.

The STANLEY TLM99s Laser Distance Measurer is available at mass retailers, home centers and independent retailers.
