The TPM-LED-L1X4-25CC-1227 LED light tower from Larson Electronics contains one LED light head that produces 720 lumens while using 12 watts of power. This temporary fixed-mount aluminum light pole extends from 3.5 to 8 feet and produces a 720-lumen light beam capable of illuminating an area that is more than 45 feet long and 35 feet wide. The LED light head on this unit contains four Edison Edixeon Emitters that produce 180 lumens each combined with high-purity optics to produce a tightly focused spot beam with limited spread or light spillage. The FTL-3-LED-25 from Larson Electronics is a 14-watt LED task light that offers cooler operating temperatures and longer lamp life than traditional incandescent or fluorescent drop lights. Constructed to be completely weatherproof and impact-resistant, this LED drop light sacrifices no light output or quality to obtain these features. The drop light is shock-resistant making it durable enough to withstand drops, falls and rough handling. Equipped with a 50,000-hour LED T8 lamp, this LED drop light is designed to operate at cooler operating temperatures than conventional incandescent and fluorescent lights to reduce the chance of fire and burns. The FTL-3-LED-25 is equipped with a LEDT8-24-V1 T8 bulb from Larson Electronics, which produces 1,375 lumens of light and requires no ballast to operate. 179D and Other Expired Tax Deductions Are Extended

On Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, President Obama signed into law the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014 (HR 5771). This officially extends the section 179D Tax Deduction along with over 50 other expired incentives for individuals and businesses retroactively through the end of 2014.

The Tax Increase and Prevention Act is simply a one-year extension to section 179D Tax Deduction and does not make any technical changes to the 179D Tax Deduction. The following is a clarification of the use of the 179D Tax Deduction and the applicability moving forward.

    In the private sector the 179D Tax Deduction will now be available for projects placed in service from Jan. 1, 2006 to Dec. 31, 2014.

    For public sector designers and contractors looking to have government/public buildings allocate the deduction to their companies, the 179D Tax Deduction will be available for open amendable tax years which for most companies will include projects placed in service from 2011 through Dec. 31, 2014.

    Baseline requirements for the qualification of 179D Tax Deduction will remain 2001 ASHRAE 90.1.

    The qualifying criteria and benefit will remain the same for the 179D Tax Deduction: Buildings will be able to qualify for a maximum of $1.80 per square foot if they achieve a 50 percent reduction in energy cost savings. Partial deductions are still available for lighting, HVAC and building envelope at $0.60 per square foot per category of qualification. The qualifying energy cost savings percentages remain at 25 percent for lighting, 15 percent for HVAC and 10 percent for building envelope.

    179D Tax Deductions under the interim lighting rule are still available for a maximum benefit of $0.60 per square foot and could range between $0.30-$0.60 per square foot for lighting power densities reduction between 25 to 40 percent respectively. Bi-Level switching will still be required when certifying lighting projects under the interim lighting rule.

    No changes were made to the type of building owners who can allocate the 179D Tax Deduction to designers and contractors. The 179D will still be able to be allocated by government owned buildings only. Private owners, non-profits, tribes, etc., will not be able to allocate the 179D Tax Deduction.

    An allocation letter is still required for government/ public agencies to allocate the 179D Tax Deduction to designers and contractors. No changes have been made to the structure or requirement of the 179D Tax Deduction allocation letter.

The WAL-RPS-TP-LEDP3W-3 from Larson Electronics is a portable LED mini light system that is comprised of a rechargeable battery pack, a 9 watt LED light mounted on a collapsible tripod, and a swiveling caster wheel deign for portable operation in work areas. This lighting system is a rechargeable LED work light tower that provides high quality LED lighting with a 50,000 hour lamp life. This portable unit is transferred on four caster wheels and is easily turned on an off with the power switch located on the side of the stool. The unit is comprised of a portable stool with swiveling wheels, a rechargeable battery pack, a low voltage 9 watt LED tripod, a 20-foot SOOW cable connecting the light to the cart, and a 120V charger.

The LED lamp is mounted to an adjustable tripod that extends to 9 feet in height. The tripod can be collapsed to 3¹ and be stored in the corner holster of the wheeled stool to aid in transportation and storage of this portable lighting system. The battery pack comprised with this light tower is recharged using a 120 volt charger, which can be charged in any environment. The battery pack is enclosed within a portable stool, which may also be used as a work bench. The caster wheels mounted on the bottom allows the unit to be easily transferred to various work sites. The 9 watt LED lamp is an efficient light source that provides 684 lumens of light and does not require an initial warm up time or a restrike warm up time in a power outage. The longevity of the LED lights combined with the long lasting battery power means this lighting system can remain in operation for long periods of time, which in turn increases work productivity.

Industrial lighting specialists Larson Electronics have announced the release of a 16 foot telescoping light mast with 360-degree rotating capabilities that is equipped with two Class 1 Division 1 150 watt LED light fixtures. The LM-16-EPL-2X150RT is a fold over light mast that produces 24,000 lumens of light capable of illuminating 1.25 acres of work space.

The LM-16-EPL-2X150RT produced by Larson Electronics features a rotating boom that allows for 360° of rotation, a removable mast head affixed with two 150 watt explosion proof LEDs, and an easy fold over assembly for. This light boom can be extended to a height of 16 feet for effective coverage and collapsed to 10 feet. The mast is elevated from its folding position with a 1,000 pound hand winch that is fitted with 3/16-inch cable. A second 1,000 pound winch provides the 10 to 16 foot elevation of the mast. The 360° rotation is provided by a single T-Handle. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the mast with ease in either direction and can be locked into place once the desired position is found.

The two explosion proof LED light fixtures on this mast produce 24,000 lumens of light while drawing only 300 watts of power. These explosion proof LED fixtures are Class 1, Division 1 & 2, Groups C & D and Class 2, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups E, F, & G rated for use within the most demanding hazardous locations. The lights are wired to an explosion proof junction box at the base of the tower and 10 inches of SOOW cable terminated in an explosion proof 5-15 plug is included. A 36-inch wide and 1Ž4-inch thick mounting plate is attached to the upper section of the mast which provides a strong and stable platform for the two light fixtures.

These light masts are typically mounted to trailers or other stable surfaces by a 15 by 13 inches, 1Ž4 inch thick mounting baseplate which has been predrilled to accept six 3Ž4 inch anchor bolts. When lowered to 10 feet, the mast can withstand winds up to 125 miles per hour. The light tower weighs approximately 400 pounds and can easily support and lift 150 pounds of weight.

This mast is equipped with six 1,500 watt metal halide lamps that produce 900,000 lumens of light combined.

The LM-16-FM-6X1500W-EW Light Tower from Larson Electronics is a 16-foot extendable light tower equipped with an electric winch and six metal halide light fixtures that produce approximately 150,000 lumens each. The six 1,500 watt metal halide lamps produce a wide spread of intense white light, allowing this unit to effectively cover large work areas with high quality illumination. These lamps have 19 reflectors and are constructed of aluminum with a clear tempered glass lens which is secured into place with a heavy duty gasket and single ring lock. These floodlights produce a wide flood light pattern capable of illuminating approximately 10 acres. Each floodlight is securely fastened to the light boom and each lamp includes a support bracket to help maintain lamp stability within its housing.

This two section light boom can be extended to 16 feet for maximum area coverage and collapsed to 9 feet. The tower is constructed of square steel tubing. The mast is extended to its full height using an included 1,000 pound rated 120 volt Dutton Lainson electric winch with 3/16 inch aircraft cable. The electric winches are controlled by a programmable logic relay and reflective sensors as opposed to physical limit switches for ease of use and safety. The lamps are connected to the power service via a water tight male pin connector that attaches to a receptacle located on the back of the light boom.

These light masts are typically mounted to trailers or other stable surfaces via a 15 inch by 13 inch, 1Ž2 inch thick mounting base plate which has been predrilled to accept six 3Ž4-inch anchor bolts. A 24-inch-wide and 1Ž4-inch-thick mounting plate is attached to the upper section of the mast which provides a strong and stable platform for the metal halide fixtures. This light tower can withstand winds up to 125 mph when lowered to 9.6 feet.
