IB Roof Systems Joins NRCA’s One Voice Initiative, Becomes NRCA Partner Member

The National Roofing Contractors Association has announced IB Roof Systems Inc., Grapevine, Texas, has joined NRCA’s One Voice initiative as a partner member.

In 2017, NRCA launched its One Voice initiative to unite the roofing industry and speak with one voice about matters critical to the roofing industry’s continued success.

To ensure all industry sectors are given an opportunity to participate, NRCA amended its bylaws to allow manufacturers, distributors, architects, engineers and consultants that choose to participate to become full members of the association, meaning they will be granted voting rights and eligible for leadership roles within the association. Previously, such rights were reserved only for contractor members.

“NRCA’s One Voice initiative offers a unique opportunity for the roofing industry to address the major issues we face,” says Reid Ribble, NRCA’s CEO. “However, our work can only be accomplished with commitments from leaders from all sectors of this great industry. Only together as a roofing community can we take this transformational approach to address our issues and concerns and achieve success in the future.”

“IB Roof Systems is honored to become a One Voice member and to partner with the distinguished members of this great association,” says Jason Stanley, CEO of IB Roof Systems. “We are excited for the opportunity to help address and shoulder the issues our industry faces today, as well as those that may affect our dreams for a better future.”

Issues currently affecting the roofing industry include workforce development and certification; advancing the industry’s public policy agenda; building codes and insurance; and increasing professionalism throughout the industry.

Detailed Work on California Home’s Unique Roof Wins Prestigious Award

Photos: IB Roof Systems

Premium Roof Services was built on the philosophy that good relationships are good business. Founded in 1996, Premium Roof Services is proud of its team of skilled roofers, who have more than half a century of experience. Their level of quality workmanship was showcased on a recent residential project in Cardiff, California. The Palm residence was named the Residential Project of the Year by IB Roof Systems, the manufacturer of the PVC roof system installed on the project.

This custom home showcases spectacular ocean views and stunning architecture. Premium Roof Services replaced the 6,000-square-foot roof, which is configured in a unique shape with rounded edges. After removing two layers of old roofing, crews inspected and replaced the damaged sheathing. They then installed Securock cover board over the wood deck, followed by a 50-mil white PVC roof system from IB Roof, which was mechanically attached. The newly installed roof system was accompanied by custom copper and two-piece compression edge trim. The entire project took seven days to complete.

This beautiful estate, which has the ocean as its backdrop, posed some installation challenges, beginning with the abstract configuration of the roof. “Due to its unusual shape and scale, the estimating process needed close attention,” says Peter Codallos, president of Premium Roof Services. “The material yield/waste factor was close to 25 percent. Due to the owner’s request, we attained copper edging locally, which was different from our usual ordering process with IB. It was not a real issue but involved details we had to work though.”

“All involved on this project are extremely humbled being awarded the Residential Project of the Year,” Codallos notes. “The time and attention to detail began with estimator Angel Blas, our amazing roofing technicians, foreman Juanito Lopez, and supervised by Jose Macias. With one of the best residential warranties available that we know of, we feel confident that our client’s amazing home will be well protected with their new IB Roofing System for years to come.”

“We are proud to award Premium Roof Services the Residential Project of the Year Award,” states Jason Stanley, IB Roof Systems CEO. “The beauty and installation of the new roof is amazing. We are proud of them for their ongoing commitment to using the highest performing roofing products, offering extremely strong warranties and providing overall service to their customers and community. They are the type of roofing company that we are proud to work with.”

IB Roof Systems Names 4 Star General Contracting, Inc. Contractor of the Year

IB Roof Systems announced 4 Star General Contracting, Inc., was named as its 2019 Contractor of the Year. This award is presented annually at IB Roof Systems’ Contractor Retreat to the customer that embodies the valued characteristics including superior customer service and quality workmanship — and who drives the largest volume of IB Roof Systems’ PVC membrane and installation.

“Not only did 4 Star General Contracting, Inc. meet our overall award specifications, they did so in less than one year,” said Jason Stanley, Chief Executive Officer, IB Roof Systems. “4 Star General Contracting, Inc. has exemplified the highest standards for construction professionals and we are proud to work with them.”

During the 2020 IB Roof Systems Contractor Retreat, several key customers were recognized for their achievements in 2019 as a result of nominations submitted by IB Roof Systems sales representatives, including:

Larry J. Stanley Humanitarian Award of the Year: CAS Enterprises was recognized for significant effort in community service or humanitarian projects through its CAS Enterprises Giveaway program. For years, CAS Enterprises has partnered with a local TV station to select a veteran in New Mexico to receive a new roof. Dedicated patriot Abel Anaya Jr. was the 2019 winner and received a new roof for his home and back porch.

Commercial Project of the Year: Bronco Roofing & Construction honored for completing a historical restoration multilevel re-roof project in Mineral Wells, Texas. The Crazy Water Hotel is the cornerstone for Mineral Wells’ downtown revitalization initiative.

Residential Project of the Year: Premium Roof Services acknowledged for installing a 6,000-square-foot re-roof using IB Roof Systems’ PVC on a complex, custom estate in Cardiff, California, that had little to no straight edges. Due to its unusual shape and scale, this ocean view property required particular attention to detail.

Environmental Award of the Year: POWERHOME Solar recognized for its installation of solar panels for the Carolina Panthers at the team’s stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. IB Roof Systems’ PVC membrane and U-Anchor 2000s were used to attach solar arrays on three separate barrel roofs over the three entrances of the stadium.

IB Roof Systems honors its valued customers through a long-standing awards program highlighted by five categories: IB Pro, ProSelect, Circle of Excellence, President’s Club and Contractor of the Year. Each category is comprised of IB Roof Systems’ most regarded and driven customers, but it’s the Contractor of the Year Award that is given to a single contractor each year in recognition of both maintaining quality installation standards and highest business volume among IB Roof Systems’ authorized contractors.

“We’re honored to receive IB Roof Systems’ Contractor of the Year, The Stanley Cup Award (named after the founder Larry J. Stanley),” said Sean Harshaw, co-owner, 4 Star General Contracting, Inc. “With a bold strategy of being the best commercial roofing contractor in the western U.S. and using only IB Roof Systems PVC, it’s confirmed to be a winning strategy and we’re anxious to keep expanding on that simple foundation.”

IB Roof Systems Relocates Illinois Facility

IB Roof Systems announced that its Illinois facility has moved to a new location southwest of downtown Chicago at 1227 Lakeside Drive, Unit No. 3, Romeoville, IL 60446.

“As the economy and opportunities in the Midwest continue to grow, we must react to accommodate the needs of our Authorized Contractors in this region,” said Jason Stanley, President and CEO of IB Roof Systems. “This new facility accomplishes that very goal while maintaining the same level of service and support they’ve grown to expect from IB.”

The new center expands IB’s capabilities in response to the expansive growth experienced in this region over the past several years. It offers over 15,000 square feet of space and a large front office for processing will-call and direct ship orders.

This facility will continue to provide convenient next day delivery of the Greater Chicagoland area; the Midwest; and Ontario, Canada.

IB Roof Systems Donates to RCI Foundation

IB Roof Systems donated $2,000 to the Lewis W. Newlan Educational Fund at the annual RCI Foundation Auction during its annual auction recently held in Anaheim, Calif.

The donation was given in an effort to support the RCI Foundation. IB Roof Systems based its donation on the number of attendees who visited its booth at the 19th Annual RCI Conference and Trade Show held prior to the auction.

“We enjoyed visiting with various members of RCI,” states Brad Egan, marketing communications manager for IB. “Being able to showcase our roofing systems while supporting a great cause makes it a win-win for everyone.”

Show attendees answered a few simple questions within 60-seconds at the IB booth on the “IB-IQ” questionnaire, an iPAD-based set of questions about IB, their products and the roofing systems they offer. For each submission, $20 was donated to the foundation to help provide scholarships for students in the field of building study.

The RCI Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 organization that financially supports activities that advance the knowledge of the building envelope, including publications, educational programs and research. The Foundation is separate and independent from RCI, Inc., which is the organizer of the RCI Conference and Trade Show, which was held at the Anaheim Hilton and Anaheim Convention Center March 20 to March 25.

IB’s Phillip David, director of technical services and RCI member, presented the donation to the RCI Foundation at the auction.

IB Roof Systems Commits to RCI Foundation Donation

Sixty seconds of an RCI Trade Show attendee’s time equals a donation to the RCI Foundation. IB Roof Systems has announced it will donate a minimum of $1,000 to the Lewis W. Newlan Educational Fund on Sunday, March 23, during the annual RCI Foundation Auction at the 19th Annual RCI Conference and Trade Show in Anaheim, Calif.

In an effort to educate RCI roofing consultants about IB’s PVC Single Ply Roofing Systems, the company has agreed to donate $20 per trade show attendee who visits the IB booth and answers a few simple questions that comprise the 60-second, “IB-IQ” questionnaire. The IB-IQ questionnaire is an iPAD-based set of questions about IB, their products and the roofing systems they offer.

In an effort to support the educational initiatives of the RCI Foundation, IB has pledged a donation of at least $1,000 and possibly more based on how many attendees answer the IB-IQ questionnaire. At $20 per attendee, the more attendees who complete the IB-IQ questionnaire the more money IB will give to the RCI Foundation up to $5,000.

“RCI is an invaluable organization that strives to continually improve our industry. Furthermore, RCI is aligned with our brand promise by recognizing and promoting time tested, high quality roofing products installed by well trained roofing contractors,” says a company executive. “IB Roof Systems is proud to support the educational efforts of the RCI Foundation.”

The RCI Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 organization that financially supports activities that advance the knowledge of the building envelope, including publications, educational programs and research. The Foundation is separate and independent from RCI, Inc., which is the organizer of the RCI Conference and Trade Show, to be held at the Anaheim Hilton and Anaheim Convention Center March 20-25.

IB’s Phillip David, director of Technical Services and RCI member, will present the check at the RCI Foundation auction to be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Hilton.
