GAF Names New Commercial Systems Sales Lead

GAF announced that Pete Vollmar has been appointed Senior Vice President, Commercial Systems Sales, responsible for strategic leadership, management, and development of the commercial sales organization.  

Vollmar joined GAF in 1994 and brings extensive leadership experience to the role, having served as the head of commercial sales in the Northeast and most recently as the head of field sales operations and special channels. Prior to these sales leadership roles, Pete held senior roles in logistics, customer service, warranty claims and inside sales. 

“Pete’s broad experience and intimate knowledge of the market position him very well to deliver an outstanding experience for our commercial customers and accelerate our growth in the commercial roofing market,” said Jim Schnepper, president of GAF. “Pete’s expertise and vision are well-matched for the opportunity in front of us and we are incredibly excited to name him to this important leadership role.”

GAF Wins Davey Awards for Television Commercials

The Winners of the 2014 Davey Awards were recently announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts after receiving nearly 4,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world. GAF is proud to have received a Gold Award and a Silver Award in the categories of “Film and Video” and “Commercials” for its television commercials starring Jesse the Jack Russell Terrier.

The Davey Awards is judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts is dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current AIVA IAVA membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms, including Condé Nast, Disney, GE, Microsoft,, MTV, Publicis, Yahoo!, and many others.

GAF Receives Seven Emmy Awards Nominations

Nominations for the 57th Annual New York Emmy Awards have been announced, and GAF is proud to have received an impressive seven nominations for its series of commercials starring Jesse the Jack Russell Terrier. John Rathjen, director of media productions for GAF’s internal ad agency, produced the 30-second spots, which were nominated in several categories.

GAF secured three nominations in the category of “TV Commercial: Single Spot/Campaign”, two nominations for “Director: Short Form (Promos, PSAs, TV Commercials, Opens, etc.)”, and two nominations for “Editor: Short Form”.
